Back in the Saddle

It was so nice to have a break from the Xeloda. It was long enough that by Sunday night I had Chinese food and Tuesday morning I had pancakes– and didn’t get sick either time! Awesome. But now I’m back on the chemo with 6 pills a day instead of 7, so we’ll see if that helps. Today I am tired tired tired and my feet are hot, but no blisters. So we’ll see how it goes in the next 2 weeks.

I have incredibly generous friends and family– I’m in the top 100 fundraisers for the Komen race this Sunday! I don’t think they are having a raffle again this year, so winning another vacation is not likely. But it will still be a fun day and it looks like we will have sunshine. I’m not actually going to walk since my feet are bad, but I’ll hang out at our team tent and see everyone and take lots of pictures.

I am itching itching itching to take a road trip. I’ve got an open week starting June 20, or two weeks open in July. I just feel the need to drive around somewhere I haven’t been before. Maybe Yosemite? I’ve never been there. Banff? Haven’t been there either. And Finnegan still hasn’t been camping yet. I think it’s about time!

  1. Glad to hear you are getting to indulge in some normal pleasures Karen! My 16 year old daughter Ellen & I are looking forward to joining your team on Sunday (we’ll be doing the run). See you at the race!

  2. Glad you had a beautiful day. Great picture of all of you! I saw one of Finn, I
am sure he was the star that day. I think Banff would be awesome in July.
